Spatiotemporal analysis and entropy-based sandbar disorderliness with LSTM forecasting of the Koshi River shift
Prajwal Simkhada, Saurav Bista, Maheswaran Rathinasamy — H2Open Journal (Elsevier), 8(6), 491–514.
Multi-decadal satellite-based analysis of channel migration in the Koshi River, introducing an entropy-based metric to quantify sandbar disorderliness and applying LSTM networks to forecast river shift — supporting flood-risk assessment and river management in the Himalayan foothills.

Techno-economic optimization of an integrated biomass-gasification and renewable-electrolysis system for green methanol production
Hourly-resolution techno-economic model of a hybrid green hydrogen-to-methanol plant coupling dispatchable biomass gasification with solar- and wind-powered PEM electrolysis and battery storage. Joint capacity sizing and dispatch are formulated as a mixed-integer linear program (Pyomo / HiGHS), with full-year validation, levelized cost of hydrogen and methanol estimation, well-to-gate carbon-intensity accounting, and deterministic sensitivity plus Monte Carlo risk analysis.

Low-cost potentiostat development for the detection of heavy metal ions present in water
Aakriti Bhandari, Saurav Bista — IIT Hyderabad & Kathmandu University.
Design and development of a low-cost, portable potentiostat for detecting heavy metal ions (As, Cr, Pb, Cd, Hg) in water using Square Wave Voltammetry. A novel windowing and linear-extrapolation algorithm quantifies ion concentrations, with ESP32-based hardware, web/mobile applications, Telegram alerts, and validation against the commercial Sensit Smart device.
